Ubuntu 22.04 freezes occasionally

Hi all,

Ubuntu 22.04 freezes occasionally while working for unknown cause. The mouse pointer can be moved but clicking the mouse without response. I have to hard-reboot the PC.

Please advise where to check? How to solve the problem?

Try nomodeset parameter in GRUB.

Could be many different reasons and either hardware or software. First off, are you using any USB hubs? If so, disconnect all of them and see what happens. I have several USB hubs here....powered and unpowered.....that cause that type of problem.a


Second: is there a chance that the machine is overheating? Fans clean and functioning?

Third: have you run a memory test? Failing RAM chips will do that.

Fourth: have you tried another mouse?
