Hi, I'm fairly new to Linux in general, and very new to Ubuntu. i installed dual boot Ubuntu and windows on my laptop with two separate NVME SSD. the problem i have is that Ubuntu will freeze or crash after a few hours of use. I haven't been able to reproduce the issue consistently. but it almost always occurs after a few hours of use. My entire laptop stops functioning and only a few hardware switches like power button and fan speed continue working. I.E when the crash occurs it is not possible to continue to interact with the laptop besides powering it off by long press. or changing fan speed. Audio if any was playing will loop the last second or so of audio continuously. The display has no visual changes and just freezes the frame displayed. I upgraded to pro thinking it may fix it. but it did not. what are the steps i can take to diagnose and fix this issue? Ubuntu doesn't present me with a crash handler upon next startup. And i know its not my hardware since windows was working fine on the same drive that ubuntu is now installed on. And the dual boot secondary windows drive is still working without crashing. the laptop i am using is MainGear Element with Nvidia 2070 max q intel i7-9750h Ubuntu 24.04.1 LTS on 256 Gb samsung ssd windows on 2 TB WD san disk x11 with gnome 46 i should add the crashes always occur when interacting with something, and never just sitting there unused, or just playing a video etc..

issue not solved. i switched to KDE kubuntu. and still occurs after switching from opensource to nvidia drivers in settings. only other thing i think it could be is an issue with x11 or ubuntu. any help fixing this issue would be appreciated
