I currently have a free Ubuntu Pro account activated, which I initially used for the real-time kernel with PREEMPT_RT on Ubuntu 24.04.1 LTS. Recently, I switched to Ubuntu 24.10, and my system is running the Linux 6.11.0-1001-realtime kernel. Is it normal for the real-time kernel to still be available on this interim release, considering that the Pro account services were originally intended for LTS versions? Are there any implications or limitations I should be aware of while using this kernel on 24.10? Thank you for your help!
You are correct that Ubuntu Pro services are for LTS only. Ubuntu makes a lot of kernels, so maybe you got lucky. Obviously, you should not expect Livepatch to work. For specific details, you might need to ask Canonical. It's their proprietary product. UbuntuForums is populated by your peer users who volunteer to help others. We have the same visibility into Pro that you do, and no more.
