can't seem to make a installation stick

I have been trying to created an installation stick and I am failing. My problem is that I need to get into the computer during boot to tell the machines that I want them to start with the installation stick that I created. I have two machines that I can use. One is an hp (keys are: f12, f6, f2) and an intel mother board and those keys are: esc, f2, f10 I have tried both machines and failed. It just move very fast or I am doing something wrong. its driving me nuts.

    Thoughts?

Re: can't seem to make a installation stick

You generally need to repeatedly tap the appropriate key on boot to access the one time boot menu or the BIOS. The keys for HP vary with the model so the best thing to do would be to do an online search for the specific HP model you are using. I have an HP Pavilion and I can access the one time boot option by either tapping the Esc key which will give me a menu which includes the F9 key to access the one time boot options. I can also just tap the F9 key to get that option. Other HP systems use different keys. Try tapping the Esc key. Have you accessed the BIOS previously, or the one time boot options? The link below discusses the method for HP so take a look at hit. No idea with your other computer.
