Recently upgraded to 24.04.1 LTS from 22.04 LTS with almost no problems. I have a Canon MP270 printer/scanner which I don't use much now, but was working in 22.04 LTS. It has only USB connection, no wireless.

The CUPS and system settings list the printer, and shows HP DesignJet T920 as the model - I think Canon printers are usually set to use HP drivers.

CUPS sees the printer, and sends jobs to it, and notifies me that it's completed, but the printer doesn't respond. Test page comes out blank, though I can hear the heads moving. Choosing clean heads option in CUPS gives me an error that "clean" is an invalid command. I've installed a new ink cartridge.

I know this printer is very old, it's not shown in the Canon list in settings, but as it was working OK I'm reluctant to replace it unless I really have to, especially as I only use it for printing once or twice a year at most, although I scan more often.

TIA for any advice.
