1.4MB unallocated space

Hello,

After installing Ubuntu 24.04.1, via a boot key, I find myself with 1.4MB of unallocated space on my SSD.

Option during installation:
- “Erase disk and install Ubuntu” (No advanced function)

Is the creation of this unallocated space normal?
If so, why?

Can anyone tell me if they see the same thing in the “disk utility” application?

Rounding.

Partitions need to start on sector boundaries.
With old 256, you usually did not see the unallocated. But now drives are 4K, so rounding may show.
Not an issue.

Actually with SSD best to have some unallocated space, so drive can manage use.

Samsung SSD's "suggest" that you leave 10%-12% unused.
10% is pretty easy to do.
