    gaming sloooowy getting better.

    Hello All

My first post, please be nice.

I'm not new to Ubuntu I had a go at it 15 years ago, however as I'm a gamer, linux did not work out.

I thought it was time to start looking at gaming on linux again, as I hear good things are starting to happen.

I installed Ubuntu on my old FX 8530 and to my surprise I was able to in install cyberpunk 2077 on it and play on steam without looking how to make it work.

OMG it works, but not on every game and that is still not normal.

So my question, not just an intro.

What are some of the packages I need to look up, web pages.

I know of Steam and some of the work they have being doing.

    Thanks

    Ash

Steam runs games fairly well with Proton. You can enable all games in the settings under compatibility. By default Steam will only run the ones verified to work well on Linux. I've had good success running most of my games on Steam.

You can look up ProtonDB. It lists most of the games on Steam, whether they worked for other people, and what steps they needed to take to make them work.

Other than Steam, you can check out Lutris. It combines Wine with a few other things to run games on Linux. I've had a very good experience with Lutris so far. Some of my games work better on Linux with Lutris than they ever did on Windows.
