    XFCE: mirror displays greyed out

    I'm running Xubuntu 22.04
I have two monitors (one of them being my laptop monitor)
I want to set the monitors to mirror each other temporarily.
But when I run "Displays", the option "mirror displays" is greyed out???

I've tried setting both monitors to the same resolution, that makes no difference. And I've tried turning off the laptop being the primary monitor. no difference.

Any help here would be greatly appreciated.
