Re: The Future of the Forum

I hope that someone here can help. I've logged on to the Discourse area with my Ubuntu SSO but can't post, even in the Support and Help section... where a previous post from an admin says that a change has been made so that people with 0 reputation can post there... however I'm getting access denied and because I've got a post in draft, I can't post on the site feedback area... so I'm a bit stuck.

I did send an e-mail yesterday to the webmaster@ubuntu.com e-mail but as of yet have received no response.

So, I'm not sure what to do now. I'm not sure whether there is a known issue with SSO id's being able to not post, and I don't seem to be able to get my reputation off 0. Any suggestions please?

Unfortunately, level 0 people can't start new posts anywhere. The admins found that the settings wouldn't stick. The situation now is that a certain amount of reading is required before posting.

If you can tell us your username on Discourse, I can take a look and see if there's anything I can fix.

Thanks for taking a look for me. I'm "msknight" on Discourse as well as here.

You've reached Level 1, so you should be able to post now.

How is it that this discussion didn't make it to my radar the last few times I swung by? My radar must need repairs!

I might not have been very active here for the last couple of years ("stuff" happens, including a major distraction in my personal life) but I don't want to give up too easily.....

Re: The Future of the Forum

I'm getting myself acquainted with Discourse but still find myself coming here daily - Ubuntu, Linux and OS Chat and The Cafe are daily visits (The Cafe less so). My main views are New to Ubuntu and General Help and it is interesting to see familiar names still helping with issues (e.g. TheFu). The 'specific issues' in New to Ubuntu and General Help are catered for in Help and Support in Discourse but where would The Cafe and Ubuntu, Linux and OS Chat type of discussions be found?
