    Saying Good Bye

I'm on my way out the door here in UF, but wanted to say how much I enjoyed my stay and getting to know some of you on a personal level.

Buntu is just not for me anymore, and I write about it far to much in a negative manner, so it's time for me to venture off where I'm better suited.

Sorry for any ruffled feathers, that's just going to happen with multiple members.

Keep Up the good fight, and may the Force be with You all.

Very Touching thanks Guys.....In two weeks time I'll be just a distant memory.

I have sincerely grown to Love this community, and that makes it tough on me.

I just can't seem to keep my mouth shut over my dislikes for Snaps so best I move on, this community deserves better.

PS: I'll quote a user and a friend, "A fallen star is just a meteor" and for the record I'm no star by any stretch....LOL

Yup... going to miss you! But regardless of what distro you use, you are always welcome on the Ubuntu forums, even if you complain!

    Re: Saying Good Bye

I am also sad to see you leave, for the second time if I remember correctly; weren't you staff for a while using another username?

Like you I totally dislike snaps apart from Skype which I have to use for family chats on opposite sides of the world, and it's no good suggesting other similar applications as it's taken years to get my family to manage Skype and completely pointless suggesting they move to anything else; they'd never manage that.
Old hardware and snaps simply don't work well together so I remove all that I can and it is easy to do and so far there have always been alternative ways to run everything I need except Skype.

I would be very interested to hear where you have moved to and which distro you are using for most of your computing (I'm assuming it will still be Linux) so do try to keep in touch some way or other.

Good luck, wherever you go and whatever you do!

    Re: Saying Good Bye

    Interesting thread here.
My wife uses her Ubuntu Desktop 24.04 every day and doesn't know that snaps exist. She has no concept that she is using open source software. I personally think that this is exactly the result that Canonical is trying to achive.
That said I very grateful for all of the outstanding posts available on this forum by all of you highchair banging experts. I personally have learned a lot from you folks with out asking a single question in the years I have used this forum. A little less Ubuntu bashing on a Ubuntu help forum can't hurt anything but never the less I hate to see you go. You can always change your login and come back with a little more tolerance. Happy trails!
