Sorry needed coffee. Bought the one shown on Ebay for mainly three reasons.
1. I don't need the latest & greatest. This machine will be a Ubuntu install. I looked through inspiron stories last night and was horrified at the many things broken.
2. My brother is getting married so $ is tight. In 5 weeks I must not only attend the wedding, but pay for lodging , meals etc.
3. While I do understand inspiron would run a heck of a lot faster, I do not do any heavy resource tasks ~ I surf forums, email and listen to music.
4. I do in time plan to upgrade the storage and RAM to at least 1 TB and 512 GB

There were 2 ebay specials above. Which one?
No laptop or desktop systems will support 512GB of RAM. You'll need fairly new, expensive, servers for that.
1TB storage is easy. $70 for a quality SSD. But really, why not use a microSD card for add-on data storage? Those are $10 and more than fast enough for video playback.
Dell Inspiron is a different line than Latitude. Inspiron is "whatever parts we have today" and Latitude is "these parts, guaranteed for 3 yrs". They are the difference between a home purchase pre-installed with an OS and a business purchase where you might buy 20,000 of the same laptops and 100% need them to be identical with the exact same image of any OS to be mass installed, patched, etc. Completely different ideas.
In general, avoid Inspiron and get Latitude.
I understand the wedding costs. Few months ago, a wedding cost me about $2000 for 2 days in a hotel and updated clothing. I did look sharp, if I do say so myself.
The one I oringally posted. https://www.ebay.com/itm/156140421967?itmmeta=01J5TMP6RNGNJX8DQNN46WTQG6&ha %20sh=item245ab1c34f:g:toAAAOSwHstmAvjz[/url. My budget was EXTREMELY tight.
I'll upgrade the SSD eventually.

$70 isnt bad at all, I'll look into it.

Now the key question. Do I dual boot this machine or just leave it for Ubuntu. Mint is on my T470
Based on my testing ~ and it was close, the Dell wins with 5 hours 55 minutes battery life. The Lenovo lasts 5 hours 5 minutes.

I assume you meant 1TB / 32GB? (SSD/RAM)
I challenge anyone (especially Linux users) to need more than 32g of RAM on a Laptop made for travel!
Most people are perfectly fine with 16g.
CHALLENGE, I SAY! PROVE YOUR MEMORY USAGE!
Dell makes a solid Laptop. I worry about some of the new Lenovo's, because they have blocked Linux installation.
