    24.04 wayland remap keyboard caps lock

    Long story short, I lack a windows (super) key on my old school IBM M204 keyboard from 1984. I would like to map caps lock to super, and shift-caps lock to caps lock.

    Now that I am using Ubuntu 24.04 LTS and Wayland, none of the old keyboard remapping tricks work like they did on an X11 based system.

    Anyone know how this is now accomplished?

    Thanks,

    Re: 24.04 wayland remap keyboard caps lock

    So the way I solved this issue was with Input-Remapper (https://github.com/sezanzeb/input-remapper/tree/main).

    My initial stab at this didn't work because my PS2 keyboard that is attached to a PS2-USB dongle, was detected by input-remapper as a Barcode Reader, and I assumed that device was the fingerprint reader of the laptop. And the keyboard I was trying, was probably the internal keyboard of the laptop.

    With this program I was able to remap:
    CapsLock -> SuperL
    Shift+CapsLock -> CapsLock
