After further research, it was found that the canonical site did not like the use of any proxies as it was not expecting communication from a proxy. We whitelisted the sites and it began working. Thank you for the help!
We appreciate your solution, and glad you have it sorted now. It's odd to me to me though, I use a vpn and wireguard with no issues.
