Hi all, after problems with my old Ubuntu MATE 22.04, I decided to install everything anew. I downloaded Ubuntu MATE 24.04 & installed it. The only problem is that the new OS doesn't boot. All I am getting is a black screen. What can I do to solve this issue? Any help would be highly appreciated. TIA, Claus
Are you able to use Recovery mode? https://www.xda-developers.com/how-b...recovery-mode/
I will try that. Thanks! Claus
I tried it & pressed Esc, but to no avail.

What is UEFI? Got it!

Nothing; the screen remains black. P. S.: I installed it via an USB stick, and since this didn't work, I tried another USB stick. Would it help to install it via DVD?

Could it be that the ISO image is buggy?

But just to stay consistent burn to a USB Thumb Drive. The New Installer has some issues they are still working on : https://ubuntu-mate.community/t/24-0...unstable/27946
