Compiz - are there any plans to make Compiz work with 24.04 ???

Compiz worked great with Ubuntu Mate 20.04 but works pretty wonky with 24.04.
Are there any plans to update Compiz for 24.04?

You grabbed my curiosity, so I installed it.

I'm not using Mate but XFCE4 and it reminds me of the old days.....
I find it works like it used to.

But to try and reply to updating compiz, I've not heard a peep.

I remember "Marco" being a pain in the butt on Mate though.

Yes it installs without error on 24.04 but when you use it, it sometimes errors and crashes and the workspaces often disappear.

I don't have Compiz running now on my 24.04 Laptop, but still have Compiz on my 20.04 Desktop.

On Ubuntu Mate 24.05 Compiz would lock up my laptop and I would have to hard reset.
Also, the apps in my workspaces would disappear or float to other workspaces.

On the same laptop with prior Mate 20.04, Compiz worked great but not with 24.04.

I posed the question to an A.I. "Are there problems with Compiz and Ubuntu 24.04" and it responded like what I have observed.

I'm hesitant to update my Desktop and other Laptop to 24.04.

Found via search. I just upgraded a boot installation of Ubuntu MATE (i.e., not a VM) from 22.04 LTS to 24.04.1 LTS. Compiz keeps crashing every time I log in.
