    Username and real name swapped

I was registered on the forum for years as luvinit. Today I logged in using the Ubuntu one account for the first time in years and my real name is sown on the forums. I posted on General help with this topic .ERROR: open() for /sys/class/gpio/gpio0/value failed, No such file or directory
Please change this if you can or if not delete my thread, please.

Re: Username and real name swapped

You show different email for old & new name, so must have created a new SSO account which created a new forum account.

copied from an Admin (Coffecat)'s post for similar issue.

The way SSO works with the forum is that an Ubuntu One SSO account and forum account are linked in such a way that it can only be unlinked by a forum admin (or someone with admin permissions). Changing the email in either of the SSO or ubuntuforums accounts will not make any difference. The only time that the emails are important is with the initial linking, usually when a user logs in the first time from Ubuntu One, and the system looks for an email match and sets up a link if there is one, or creates a new forum account with the same email if not.

That preamble is important for you to know what is going on.

we do not administer Ubuntu One, so you would have to make the Ubuntu One changes yourself.
Do you have an old SSO account or was luvinit from prior to SSO?

Just to add to what oldfred has said, I believe the system has worked precisely as designed and as described in the "Please read before SSO login" link visible near the top left of every page. I assume you read that. In that link you will see this sentence:

If you un-tick your name in your Ubuntu One Personal Data Request page, the system uses the local part of the email to create a forum username.
The luvunit forum account does not have a linked Ubuntu One account, and the email registered to it is different from the one associated with the Ubuntu One account that you used to create this forum account.

Re: Username and real name swapped

We have a long-standing tradition - in the interests of transparency - not to delete or edit threads in the Resolution Centre. However, we can rename accounts which means that the new username appears on all posts made by that account. Which is what I have now done. I have renamed your newer account to luvinit2, which is what the system would have named the account if the name field in the personal data request page had not been unticked. This should preserve your privacy.

Do you want to retrieve the old luvinit account?
