Appetizer (v1.47.508) ________ I have been using this program and it's extensions/plugins/addons/skins for several years now. It tends to work pretty well in Linux WINE. What it does is launches Windows programs from it's own "dock". It's pretty easy to configure via it's icons and it uses windows's icons for it's interface. Although it's vaporware, some of it is still hosted on Archive (dot) org yet without the right syntax to get to the files. Here's the main site with the files: (Windows binary EXE and the .zpl extensions). https://sourceforge.net/projects/appetizer/files/ The skins can be obtained from here: https://web.archive.org/web/2/http:/...PAMClassic.zip https://web.archive.org/web/2/http:/.../NightBlue.zip https://web.archive.org/web/2/http:/...s/NightRed.zip https://web.archive.org/web/2/http:/.../DarkGlass.zip https://web.archive.org/web/2/http:/...kins/Glass.zip https://web.archive.org/web/2/http:/...skins/Logo.zip https://web.archive.org/web/2/http:/...ns/LCDPink.zip https://web.archive.org/web/2/http:/.../skins/LCD.zip I really like this program a lot because I run out of patience with WINE and this helps me to just launch my files. I have Appetizer configured to run once and display the icons, then I can click on the palette of icons to launch what I want. Of course wine can do similar with the right syntax, but I have a hard time memorizing WINE's odd syntax. I used to even have a Windows freeware program to force a Windows program to close from the command line, but I can't find it. But it was a way to click a custom icon to force something to quit. Anyhow, since it's customizeable and pretty, you can do a lot with this creatively. I'm not really sure of what sort of CPU time it gives the launched programs, but it's never been a problem for me. I tended to use it to run my favorite old school Windows programs at a glance. I hope this works for you too. Peace
That's what it does with it's plugins, and part of what it looks like. Enjoy! Let me know if you have any questions on how to use it, and I'll try to help.
