How to Share local Internet Using a Proxy client?

I want to download/setup a proxy on a VM to send the network traffic from the host machine to the local Internet but not the remote server who has a different IP.

You could use the http_proxy/https_proxy environment variable to point at your proxy server (provided it is web traffic), or use iptables to redirect packets to a destination transparently.

    iptables -t nat -A PREROUTING -i eth0 -p tcp --dport 80 -j DNAT --to-destination 192.168.1.2:8118

Re: How to Share local Internet Using a Proxy client?

SSH login from host to guest machine (ssh -D root@192.168.56.6) is what I need, it can make a proxy servicing for programs in hostOS, and do some iptables settings in guestOS beforehand.
