Brasero unable to open ISO files

Fresh install of Ubuntu 24.04 and I've installed Brasero but when you point it at an ISO image it says it cannot identify the image type and to set it manually.

I've tried to install Burner and this gives identical errors, I can mount the ISO images fine, but I cannot write them to DVD. I've uninstalled Brasero and reinstalled it, but it has no idea how to handle an ISO file, it won't even burn the ISO I used to make the USB drive that installed it!

    Regards,
    Jason.

I have the same problem, and installed XfBurn to get a dvd burnt.

Re: Brasero unable to open ISO files

Startup Disk Creator on 24.04 does not recognise a DVD as a target to burn an ISO image to.

My guess is that the DVD disc is too small for Ubuntu 24.04. The Tutorial for downloading and installing Ubuntu 24.04 LTS says:

A flash drive (12GB or above recommended).

    And they call it progress!
