Upgrading Ubuntu on Dell Precision 5470

Hello,

I've installed Ubuntu 20.04.6 LTS on my Dell Precision 5470 which works perfectly with the internal webcam and audio. I'm being prompted to upgrade to the newer LTS build, but before I do I wanted to ask the following:

• If I upgrade, will my drivers stay in place?
• If not, how do I ensure my drivers will work with the newer builds?

Any help will be appreciated.

Did you have to install any drivers in the first place?

You could follow this guide and post the paste link,
and let others determine whether or not there are any known issues with the hardware you have.

You could also boot an Ubuntu Desktop 22.04 LiveUSB, enter the "Try Ubuntu" environment, and test all your hardware.

That's an easy way to test hardware compatibility without touching your existing OS.
