How to get a full screen desktop image and actually get the task bar to autohide.

I have been looking around and cannot find any settings that make the taskbar actually autohide until you mouse to the known region where it resides then its exposed.
Also would like the entire screen filled with just the desktop image, not title bar, any suggestions.
