Ubuntu 22.04

Recently a setup process that relied on a ppa threw an error message regarding versioning conflict. The URL of the ppa was displayed, but not the name or shortcut. To resolve this problem I could have used ppa-purge or add-apt-repository --remove from the command line. This would have been preferable since I was working at the command line via SSH. That approach was not doable since I didn't have the shortcut name. Instead, I had to go to the computer and use unity software center to find and remove the ppas.

Is there a rule or protocol to get shortcut names for ppas from the URL?
