Exploring DNS of late I have set up a couple of cnames which point to a site I have on a local Raspberry Pi server. This works quite well as apache is set to recognise the sub domain (Think that is the correct description) and redirect it to different configured folders on my server. I was under the impression a cname could point to any domain name but not IP address. To test something I created a cname prefix for my own domain named search and pointed this to google.com (also tried neeva.com), both show up correctly on dnschecker.org but clicking on that cname address shows 'address not found'. Am I understanding this wrong, does it have to point to a domain that I own? Geoff
