I am having issues with my Dell G3-3500 laptop keyboard - it does not work. The back lighting is fine - but the keyboard will not work.

+ 5.15.0-46-generic kernel
+ Ubuntu 20.04
+ removed touchpad related software
+ tried a live version of 22.04 and it still does not work.
+ I plugged in a USB keyboard and that works fine.
+ uninstalled and installed driver software for keyboard (xserver-xorg-input-all)

I have tried a number of suggestions via the web and googling ... to no avail. What log file might have information?

Is there a way to check out the hardware and determine if something is amiss? I was gone for nearly 3 weeks and came back to this problem.
