Question Files (Nautilus) opens multiple instances

    Hey all,

I have a weird problem in Ubuntu 21.10, Gnome 40.4.0.
When I launch the Files application (from the favorites, or from the launcher), it launches normally. If I click the icon again, it launches a new instance. I don't want that to happen, I have configured that clicking on an active application icon minimizes/maximized, but Files decided to ignore that. Any hints on where to look?

Not default behaviour. This behaviour can be set with the "Launch new instance" extension, so first check whether you have that enabled. Also inform us on whether that happens for every application on the dock or only Files.

I do not have the "Launch new instance" extension installed and it only happens to Files (Nautilus). Version 40.2.
