Something is wrong with the update procedure.

I do not see a problem with this. Do you have evidence that updates should have been made to the packages in the archives during the period called Christmas? Paid employees are required by law to have vacation periods. Certain days during the Christmas period are legally required vacation days or so-called holidays (holy days). What I have said applies even more so to volunteers.

For all we know people are sick with Covid 19. Humans become infected with viruses more often than machines. Another thing to think about is this: Long Term Support versions get fewer updates than the next version still under development. I expect the development version to get updates every weekday. Weekends are less busy.
