    New Crouton User

So I installed Ubuntu 16.04 LTS onto an older chrome book I wasn’t using in the hopes of basically just running GIMP but I’ve run into a problem. I can switch to the Ubuntu os from a bash window but I can’t install anything or alter anything with ubuntu and there’s very few commands that will work. I think it’s cause my computer sorta froze at the create user step and then created a user without a password which attempts to update or create a password give me the notice that there is no user but in the Ubuntu window it has the username and then says disabled next to it. I don’t know how to fix this if it is the problem though. Help?

Crouton is not officially supported by Chrome OS or Canonical. You may get support on the developers website. Ubuntu I6.04 is no longer supported.
