Old laptop w/GeForce Go 6150 - Corrupted Graphics

Is there any way to fix the corrupted graphics with the GeForce Go 6150? This old laptop (Compaw Presario V6000) has a GeForce Go 6150 along with an nForce 430 Chipset.

It seems that the Nvidia 304 drivers are no longer supported at all. Am I out of luck in my quest to get Ubuntu installed on this machine?

    Thank you,

    -J

    What is "the corrupted graphics"?
The hardware in question is 15 years old. Even if you do manage to install Ubuntu on something like that, it would not work well, and make you frustrated and miserable. Try something like AntiX instead.

Hey there, I just wanted to get back to you IRT your suggestion of Anti-X. I downloaded the full ISO, installed it, and it's working really well without having to do anything. Video is good, sound is good, WiFi/Ethernet is good, and the display even turns off after some time. Really very pleasantly surprised - so thanks again for the suggestion! Really appreciate it!

Welcome. I case someone finds this useful, there are a few other distros that should work well on very old hardware.
I usually recommend AntiX, Puppy Linux and Slitaz.
There are also Lubuntu, Xubuntu and Ubuntu Mate, which are midweight.
