    touch for desktops?

More and more often, I am running into offered solutions to issues referencing Touch, but everything I can find about that only references the mobile phone operating system. Touch and its default directories are not on Ubuntu desktop by default. Does it work for/ integrate into desktop systems?

I am not clear you are writing about the Touch package or simply touchscreen functions on your laptop.

    Re: touch for desktops?

I'm sure touch can be made to work on a desktop but why? You have to lift your hand to chest height and extend it every time you want to make an input. Using a pointing device like a mouse doesn't involve as much arm/hand movement. I suppose if a display were lower and more horizontal than what's typical for a desktop then touch might make sense.
