    grub trouble

    so i have a ubuntu with grub 1 and i installed kubuntu with grub 2
    so grub 1 does not recognize my usb i installed kubuntu on and if i use my laptops boot menu it hangs on a blinking text cursor and 2 other dell laptops do not show the usb as being bootable
    i need to boot it, any help.
    laptop is toshiba satellite a355 s6925

    Looks like an older core2 duo.
    I have an older one from 2006 with only 1.5GB of RAM and it runs Kubuntu 20.04.

    Lets see details, use ppa version with your live installer (2nd option) or any working install, not Boot-Repair ISO:

    i forgot i installed an old version 12.10 that cant acess boot repair and download from internet.if someone could link a .deb that will be good. i can acess launchpad in web browser but not terminal for some reason.
    i could send video or pictures of errors i getting when i try to install grub

    12.10 lost support years ago! Usingbthat online is just asking to be hacked as it will no longer have the security needed for safe use.

    You should forget about that version and make sure you clean install a fully supported version, probably one of the DE versions that need fewer hardware resources, such as Xubuntu or Lubuntu 20.04.

    You might do well to review this post in another of your threads. An Admin gave you a very clear message there.

    This Admin give you another clear message: Cease the requests for support regarding years-old releases. It is irresponsible of you to use them, possibly irresponsible for other users to attempt to help, and almost certainly a waste of everyone's time.
