No mouse click

Today I started my Ubuntu and noticed I could not interact with it. Drilling down on that problem I found out my keyboard works, my mouse pointer moves over the screen, but the mouse clicks do not work. I rebooted my system and disconnected the USB dongle of the Logitech cordless keyboard and mouse with same result. What are my options?

It seems to me the mouse is broken. So I will need to by a new one.

Are you able to read /var/log or 'journalctl -b' to find something related to that mouse ?

Try searching "Ubuntu virtual mouse" .. some tips are found. Until you can buy a new mouse.
