LMMS won't recognise Carla as an Instrument Plug-In

OS: 20.04 LTS

Ubuntu 20.04 comes with LMMS 1.2.1 and once Carla was installed, I was expecting LMMS to have Carla Patchbay and Carla Rack as instrument plugins but it doesn't.

I then ran LMMS 1.2.2, Appimage version, and it recognised Carla.
KNowing LMMS 1.2.1 might be the culprit, I decided to update LMMS to LMMS 1.2.2 via a PPA called UbuntuHandbook1

After the update, nothing happened.

Can someone please tell me what's going on?

Does Ubuntu Studio maintainers strip certain settings from LMMS upstream?
Why does the appimage work but not the repository one?


I need touse some LV2 plugins on LMMS.
