    Unhappy 60fps cap

so, i switched from windows to Linux and the game i grind the most (geometry dash) is supported under steam play proton stuff, and for some reason its capped at 60fps even tho I have a 165hz monitor that is set to 165hz in the settings, i have tried switching display drivers (i tried 470, 460 for my 1650) and i have tried the in game sync and toggled it on and off, nothing, its stuck at 60fps and this game is dependant on a higher refresh rate as it highly affects the physics and stuff making the game 1000 times easier and I bought my monitor for that purpose. Now i cant even use my monitor for what I bought it for, i feel like this is a steam play issue and not an ubuntu issue but i thought i would try here anyway (note my desktop runs and shows 165hz)

    Re: 60fps cap

check for instructions on proton switches. maybe one of the switches is capping it at 60fps.

proton has many commands you can add at launch of the game. i have 75hz monitor and i think my kid has a faster refresh rate, but i never saw any FPS caps in games unless i specifically set them.

if you have nvidia you can also check nvidia settings. as i recall they juts recently started to apply correctly to proton games (custom program settings or what its called).
Read the easy to understand, lots of pics Ubuntu manual.
Do i need antivirus/firewall in linux?
