trying to put a new 29.04.3 on a system and failing

I am tryhing to put a ubuntu on a drive. My problem that it always ends up with a problem with grub. I searched that and it said that I had a grub problem. I think that problem is that the drive might have a problem. What I want to do is to get rid of all partitions, etc. and make sure its clean and then make another run at it. My problem is that there doesn't seem to be any way I can do that. Fdisk is available but doesn't really work. part whatever I can't find. parfted. I thought I would post this and somebody could tell me the series of commands to get that done.

This should have said 20.04.3 but its done but thought I would clear that up.

    Thank you.....................

If solved, maybe you could return and use the Thread Tools located at the upper right of the thread to mark it as Solved so their may find solutions to their similar problems.
