Impossible to install ubuntu on a Macbook pro

    Hello everyone,

A friend gave me his old macbook pro (end of 2011 I believe). I had to change the hard drive since the old one was broken.
I tried to install Ubuntu with a bootable usb drive, but it won't boot. I even try to install windows 10 and MacOS Sierra, but same result. I heard something about a secureboot that is installed by default on every Macbook. Could it be the problem ?

I'm sorry if my questions are silly, I am usually just an user of our main computer at home (and English is my second language).

    Any idea ?

    Thnaks !

Thread moved to Apple Hardware Users. which is more appropriate and a better fit.

I didn't notice there was a particular section. I'm sorry.

I tried to install Ubuntu again from my usb stick. Like last time, the installation process went smoothly. But it still won't boot. I still have the same white screen. When I try to install it again, a message says that Ubuntu is already installed.
