Do you know that there are USB WiFi adapters that are plug and play on Ubuntu that sell for less than $15 USD? This includes adapters from N150 all the way to AC1200. Just think, no more having to hunt down a driver just to find out it is the wrong one.

I just obtained the Alfa AWUS036ACM with the Mediatek MT7612U Chipset. (Top on your list I see) It works great right out of the box with Ubuntu 20.04 and Kali-linux. Real Plug an Play. It does monitor mode and packet injection if your into that sort of thing.

The ALFA AWUS036ACM is at the top of the list for several good reasons. In my humble opinion, it is the best overall USB WiFi adapter for Linux. Period. It definitely does pen testing, Kali, and injection well... and it does it by the book as the driver is Linux Standards compliant. It really impresses me how well it does AP mode. I built myself an access point using this ALFA adapter with a RasPi4b. Darn thing will pump out over 400 Mb/s with 5 GHz. The way I see it, why buy a wifi router when you can build an extremely capable one that will get regular updates.

Don't you love that PLUG and PLAY? I've been doing my best to get good info out. to Linux users that there are really good options available.
