Ubuntu 20.04 on Alienware Aurora R12

I'm looking into getting a new PC, and considering the Dell Alienware machines. I do a bit of gaming, and a bit of playing around with Blender, so something with decent graphics capability is a priority. From what I can see, both the NVIDIA RTX 3080 and 3090 have Linux driver support.

As far as the rest of the machine goes though, has anyone had any luck installing Ubuntu on an Aurora R12? I'm aware that Dell don't support Linux on Alienware, but I had 20.04 running fine on an Alienware Area 51 R2 (until it died on me yesterday). I've seen some comments from a year or so ago about 20.04 not working due to a bug in systemd, but 18.04 did. So has anyone tried anything recently with 20.04?

Did you ever consider building your own gaming machine? You can get more bang for your buck with a home-built system. There a lots of guides available on putting one's on system together. You might want check out PCpartpicker website, https://pcpartpicker.com/
