Lenovo Thinkpad p14s (ubuntu certified) will not work with Fibocom L850-GL LTE Module

The Fibocom L850-GL LTE that ships with the Thinkpad p14s (AMD) does not work in Ubuntu. When will this pci module officially be supported by the ubuntu distribution and kernel? I use the notebook for work and i do not want to experiment with some - at the moment - buggy projects. Thanx for the info!

I have no knowledge of your device. I gather it's some sort of cellular modem. My solution if I have wifi device with an new/unsupported chipset is to use a USB wifi adapter that I know does work. I have an ugly and slow wifi adapter but plug it in and it work - every time. If the vendor is reasonably well known and responsible eventually the device will be supported. I hope someone better versed in these things checks in.
