    "Neil_The_Newbie"... Well, I was "ml9104_The_Newbie" 18 months ago.

    But I did not expect a "Free (as in beer) Windows" experience, on the contrary. I managed to get an old notebook that originally was shipped with W Vista, downgraded to XP and after that completely useless installed with Lubuntu.

    I was immensely impressed: everything suddenly worked, network, graphics, wireless etc. out of the box. The only thing that didn't work was an LED indicator, which is useless anyway.
    And it's 5...10 times faster that it was in it's XP days.

    Your radiate an "entitlement" attitude towards people who work on this for free and have done a fantastic job bringing up an OS that's at least on par with M$, if not better.
    Lots of chip suppliers provide open Linux drivers, do you really need nVidia? I don't.

    OK, got that off my chest. Now I'll go to bed.
