Exclamation Incredibly slow transfer rates from AU Ubuntu server

I'm trying to install some packages from au.archive.ubuntu.com at the moment, as part of the process of setting up OBS studio.

I'm getting incomprehensibly bad download speeds... right now it's bouncing between 11 and 53 BYTES per second, while downloading libqt5core5a....

This has happened to me before, but rarely... is someone able to check the AU server and see if it's overwhelmed with requests, or otherwise operating strangely?

Re: Incredibly slow transfer rates from AU Ubuntu server

Use a normal web browser - http://au.archive.ubuntu.com/pub/ubuntu/ how fast is it?
Nobody here works for Canonical. I think most mirrors are run by outside organizations - often ISPs or Universities.

That mirror appears to be run by AARNet Pty Ltd which resolves to aarnet.edu.au. Whois is a magical tool.
