(20.04) Ecotank printer ET-4750 stopped printing

Hello ,

i noticed on Focal Fossa that there is an issue with the printer Ecotank 20.04

Although the printer is recognized at startup and added automatically to the printer-list, it won't print.

The printer is connected through a USB connection, and is online.
Have also downloaded the Epson Printer Driver from their side, and installed an additional printer in the settings, but also this printer-profile wont function.

Please advice on how to proceed.

The disclaimer from Epson states the following

[Notice]
In order to install these drivers, you need to install LSB package (version 3.2 or later) beforehand.

Ubuntu:
# apt-get install lsb

Fedora:
# yum install lsb

OpenSUSE:
# yast --install lsb

Personally, I would always put a device like this on the network with wireless. However, lets's see how far we can get on USB. With 20.04, Ubuntu handles USB connections in a different way from 18.04. Please give the the outputs of

Hello ,

it was Ubuntu 20.04 Focal Fossa LTS.

No, i don't use wireless if not strictly necessary eg. convenient for short time.

Reverted back to 18.04 and everything back to normal.
Maybe it was just an error on my side, but maybe there was a disfunctionality (as it seemed).

EDIT: and i had installed the correct drivers from Epson

epson-inkjet-printer-escpr2_1.1.12-1lsb3.2_amd64.deb

i noticed that the printer would not show up as a regular USB printer, it would show up under another category.
on Ubuntu 18.04, the USB connection would be correctly detected and also the drivers would be correctly loaded (it would let me choose between the EPSON driver i installed and the driverless that Ubuntu provides)

Sorry, i noticed that the original posting was misleading,

i meant on Focal Fossa and the printer is the Ecotank ET-4750.

Maybe, but you did not respond to a single question you were asked. None of them require you to be using wireless.

hei, i downgraded to 18.04.
there were some disfunctionalities with ubuntu 20.04 and the printer issue was a bit too much for my taste.
will test again in a virtualmachine sometime and report back to you.

When i click on System Settings > Printers > Add >

it would show me 6 options

4xET-4750 with several adress
1xPrinter with address: Macmini09
1xCUPS-BRF-Printer

however it would not indicate any Printer on USB connection (which is physically present).
