I have a 2011 MacBook Pro with a Radeon GPU that no longer works. I am looking to run the MacBook using only the Intel 3000 on board video and I was wondering if this was possible.
I am able to install Ubuntu using the Live CD in Safe Graphics mode but when I reboot and attempt to boot off the hard drive the screen stays on a white cursor. I tried pushing the esc key to see the grub options but have been unsuccessful. I have also tried editing grub from the Live CD so that I could disable the Radeon which has also been unsuccessful.
Has anyone been able to get this to work?
