Please. Someone must be able to help.
WiFi is shown as working in your report.
Thanks for lookin at it. It comes on for a second then goes off all the time.
Is it a laptop with a hardware wifi on off switch? Could be that simple?
No it's a tower computer. I noticed it had a button battery inside and I don't know what that's for.

Please describe exactly what's happening. As per your report the WiFi was working at the moment you ran the script. Please note that "working intermittently" ISN'T the same as "not working". When posting please always describe the best you can what's happening and avoid vague statements. Also post in the correct section to avoid the extra work of moving your Mint posts to the correct section. You already know that you can't use the main sections because Mint isn't an official Ubuntu derivative and yet you insist in ignoring this fact. Consider using https://forums.linuxmint.com/
Now, knowing it's desktop, a question arises: Does it gets a strong enough signal? It often happens with desktops the tower itself interferes a lot with WiFi transmissions, depending on its relative position and distance to the router, antenna or antennae arrangement and other factors. That alone can be the the cause of instability and intermittent connection. Laptops in the vicinity often do not have the same problem because typically their antennae are mounted inside the screen's bezel and work in an ideal upright and unobstructed position relative to the router.
PS - The battery is likely a CR2032 and its purpose is to keep the firmware settings and clock. All computers have them. This is totally irrelevant for the question of this thread but it shows the basic knowledge of computer is missing so, hopefully, we can tailor the answers here accordingly.
