I created a fresh install of Ubuntu 20.10 on an external SSD using the official disk image in the Raspberry Pi imager. After plugging the SSD into the Raspberry Pi 4 it boots and takes me through the usual setup. However, when it asks me to connect to a WiFi network, I enter the password and nothing happens, it just takes me back to the list of available networks. I have had issues with Ubuntu + Raspberry Pi before when using an SD card directly plugged into the Pi, but I have an ethernet cable and router nearby, so no big deal. I clicked 'skip' and proceeded with the installation. After logging in, I connect the ethernet cable, but the network doesn't seem to connect. The ethernet symbol just appears with a question mark over it in the Ubuntu panel. I don't really know anything about networking, so am a bit lost as to what the cause could be.
