Re: Anyone tried Ubuntu Web Remix?

I am being tempted to dual boot with it. I like the idea that it comes with something called Anbox for running Android apps. There is one particular Android app that I like to run that is not compiled for Linux. I am able to run it using Chrome browser and its ArcWelder extension. I might try out Ubuntu Web remix and Anbox to see if this is a better solution.

    Regards

P.S. Before posting I decided to research Anbox. It runs Android in a container. It is a snap app. It installs on standard Ubuntu. That is how it is done in Ubuntu Web Remix. Smart developer. Even so, Ubuntu Web Remix might be useful for someone who does not want to get involved in the standard process of keeping an OS up to date.

It is a machine. It is more stupid than we are. It will not stop us from doing stupid things.

Hi Chanath, nice to see you here. I'm more active on Ubuntu Discourse. I'm glad to see that you got a chance to look at Ubuntu Web.

    Hi grahammechanical,

I repackaged many components of Anbox as deb packages. Ubuntu Web (and Anbox used in it) doesn't use snap, nor is snapd installed by default.

    Kind regards,
