    Re: "W" errors

Those errors occurred when you ran apt update. Note what the first line says

is configured multiple times in /etc/apt/sources.list:123 and /etc/apt/sources.list:175
The words "is configured multiple times in /etc//apt/sources.list" occur in every line. The sources.list file is a text document that the apt utility uses to locate the sources or repositories that Ubuntu looks to to find packages that have been updated. These repositories are where Ubuntu looks when we want to install an application.

The Warning message is saying that there is more than one address for each repository in the sources.list file. From experience I know it does not stop us from successfully running apt upgrade.

Or, you could edit the sources.list file and remove or comment out (by placing # at the start of the relevant lines) those additional addresses to the repositories.

    Please run

    Code:
    cat /etc/apt/sources.list
And see what your sources.list file contains.

    Regards
It is a machine. It is more stupid than we are. It will not stop us from doing stupid things.

    Re: "W" errors

The only lines NOT COMMENTED OUT are:
    Code:
deb http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ groovy main universe restricted multiverse
deb http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ groovy-updates restricted universe main multiverse
    deb http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ groovy restricted

    deb http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ groovy-security main restricted
    deb http://security.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ groovy-security universe
    deb http://security.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ groovy-security multiverse
    Are there really duplicates here?
    These are (in bold)
    Code:
deb http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ groovy main universe restricted multiverse
deb http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ groovy-updates restricted universe main multiverse
    deb http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ groovy restricted
    deb http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ groovy-updates restricted
    deb http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ groovy-backports restricted multiverse
    deb http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ groovy-security main restricted
    deb http://security.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ groovy-security universe
    deb http://security.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ groovy-security multiverse
    Updated, as I miss one/two.

Also noticed you're missing the extra backport entry, either from line 126 or line 202.
