Cannot install / run Cannon PIXMA MX490 Printer Driver

My Cannon PIXMA MX490 driver states "READY" and when print is executed a progress bar shows, but none on the printer, no activity at all..

Power cycled the printer removed re-added driver numerous times and still does not work..

Anyone with similar issues and have a resolution ?

Are you installing with lan, wifi, or usb. Also do you have a canon.ppd file in /usr/share/ppd/ ? And do you have system-config-printer installed? It should open from the command prompt.
