Angry "Oh no! Something has gone wrong." after upgrading to 20.10

After upgrading to 20.10 I keep getting the "Oh no! Something has gone wrong." whenever I run csgo via Steam and it forces to me to log out. The error message seems to be displayed when I start csgo and it's just hanging there in the background, the game keeps running but after I close it all I can see is the error messages and a log out button.

    Anyone else experiencing this?

You can try to reinstall Steam and then the game and see if that works.

You will probably have to do a fresh install of 20.04. Upgrading often causes weird problems like that. I learned a looong time ago to only to fresh installs and then to only stick with the LTS releases. 20.04 was the last one and 22.04 will be the next LTS. Unless you have the very latest cutting edge equipment, there really is no reason to use the interim releases.

I have this error now as well. Is there any other solution other than a fresh install? My Upgrade was from 20.04 to 20.10 and during the upgrade process I caught subliminal references to the NVIDIA rebuild having an exit error of "10" if that helps. I had a load of development work on my laptop and had yet to back it up. Is there any way to recover it before the re-install? How about using a UBUNTU Live disk and altering something on the HD?

What is odd is that I had my Updater set to "only notify me of LTS upgrades" yet this one popped up.

The essential task is to use a live session to backup your files. Nothing more, nothing less at the moment.
