How to debug failed openGL/Mesa install

Here is the problem, cut/pasted from the terminal from a new Ubuntu 20.04.1 install. The question is "where to start?"

    Code:
    chris@Z420:~$ glxinfo
    name of display: :1
X Error of failed request: BadValue (integer parameter out of range for operation)
Major opcode of failed request: 151 (GLX)
Minor opcode of failed request: 24 (X_GLXCreateNewContext)
      Value in failed request: 0x0
Serial number of failed request: 41
Current serial number in output stream: 42
    chris@Z420:~$
    Here is my display hardware
    Code:
    chris@Z420:~$ sudo lshw -class display
    [sudo] password for chris:
      *-display
