    Ubuntu on Asus E203MA?

I'm brand new to Linux and am interested in installing Ubuntu on to my Asus E203MA Vivobook. I'll link it below. It has 64GB of eMMC storage and 4GB of RAM. I've looked around online and have seen some say they're running Ubuntu on this model with no problem. Others have said that you can't install Ubuntu via USB flash drive on to a computer with eMMC storage. Does anyone have any definitive answers?

There probably aren't any definitive answers because the same Asus model number will have different specifications depending on the geographical market.

Also, regular Ubuntu might be a little sluggish on that device. Xubuntu or Lubuntu may be a better choice.

Are you familiar with running a live session with a usb stick?

I am not. But I've watched a few video tutorials on YouTube and it seems fairly straightforward.

A live session is pretty straightforward when you have done it a few times.

The first time can be a bit daunting.

Can you enter into your UEFI set up pages to organise your boot priority?

When you are in a live session, it is advisable to check:-

    • Access to your internal drives via the file manager
    • Sound output
    • Ethernet and wireless connection
    • Screen resolution

if you have difficulty with preparation/booting of your usb device, please start a new thread with a succinct title because you'll attract more support from some very knowledgeable and experienced forum members.

    Good luck
